Williams Farm Open Day
This year’s 2nd Open day takes place on the Williams farm, Barnadown, Y25 X2X4, on the Wexford/Wicklow border 26th September at 11am.
A great day is guaranteed with an established herd of Montbeliarde cows. They are milked with two Lely robots and Lely reps will be present on the day.
Ferreol from Coopex, France will give a presentation of bulls used on the farm. Bo Sires will be there to show the bulls that are currently available through their company as will Dovea Genetics, who are selling Jura bulls also from France. Various other companies are invited to attend. Paul Keogh, the Williams Teagasc advisor will make a presentation on the day.
The order of the day is tea or coffee on arrival. Followed by our speakers presentations, a tour of the farm and a viewing of the herd followed by lunch for all visitors to the farm.
To make it an even better day there will be a free draw for all attendees for a trip to France to see the Montbeliardes in their home country taking place on 13th November-17th November 2024. This prize is sponsored by Bó Sires,Coopex and the Montbeliarde society.
This trip is being organised by Bo Sires and Coopex in conjunction with the Montbeliarde Society, for anyone attending the open day we will take your names and you will be entered into a draw which will take place immediately afterwards. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Neil and Ferreol for organising what should be a great trip.
If anyone is interested in coming on the trip please contact the society for further details. It will involve farm visits, a day at a show and getting to know other farmers currently milking Montbeliardes or are thinking of doing so in the future.
